Congratulations to McLaren, regardless of the crash between max and lewis, Daniel would have won this on merit. So happy for him and McLaren.15-09-2021 02:01

So many infantile posters on this site. Imagine if Hamilton had qualified first, and Verstappen third. And Massi managed to squeeze two laps in even worse conditions just to make sure it qualified for half points. You blokes would be on here wetting yourself in anger because it proves the FIA are favouring Hamilton - giving him points when there was son actual race for places. Don't turn every event, and every race into another childish Hamilton hate rant.30-08-2021 01:23

The Schumachers... Max is really the best... is really the fastest... is really deserving. Look, the only thing that really counts is how many points at year's end, everything else is just special pleading. #don'tbeatthatrecord08-08-2021 10:47

I won't bother speculating or adding to unfounded rumours, suffice to say, I would be astonished if the Aston Martin appeal was accepted let alone successful. They had several hours after the race to extract the fuel, but couldn't, pretty simple really. Having said that, I feel for them that their best performance was taken away, and on sentimental grounds, wouldn't lose any sleep if they got their points back, but it won't happen.06-08-2021 02:46

To be fair the 147.5 million cost cap does allow for "forces majeure" that is, costs incurred outside of the team's control. So the accidents that were not their fault can fall under that 5.5% "forces majeure" allowance i.e 7-8 million US over the 147.5 million Us cost cap - which would easily cover the costs of Silverstone and Hungary repairs estimated to be around 3-3.5 million US.04-08-2021 00:39

Clearly Red Bull knew they didn't have new relevant and compelling evidence. The Stewards canned their application and made it plain they were concerned with some of RB's allegations. RB had two purposes: Try and destroy Hamilton's reputation and show Max how much they love him. Regrading the first purpose, RB probably squeezed in a few quotes from LH44 Superstar proving Hamilton's malicious intent, as well as knock up some PowerPoint slides using already available GPS data!30-07-2021 01:56

"Nearly killing your fellow competitor" he has bruising, even in the very soft world of effeminate men, bruising isn't even close to death. I grant he slightly missed the apex, but he was almost equal approaching the braking zone, therefore he has every right to go for the corner. Verstappen knew he was there, but he thought he would pull out and then tried to close the door. If Hamilton was in Verstappen's position he would have done that too, and I have no doubt if Verstappen was in Hamilton's position he would have done the same. That's why Charles and Alonso called it a racing incident as did most pundits and ex drivers (though not all). However, the stewards found that Hamilton was more at fault because he missed the apex ("predominantly" i,e 60/40) which is why they gave the second most lenient penalty. The consequences of the incident were terrible for Max and RB as far as the championship goes - so I get their reaction, but let's be clear, the vitriol, hatred, mockery, and gross exaggerations (nearly killed someone!) that continue a week alter speak more of pathological hatred of Hamilton or at the very least severe bias that the facts of the situation with not uphold.25-07-2021 00:57

Putting aside Reb Bull and Merc people, listening to the current drivers not connected with either team pretty sure Charles and Alonso called it a 'racing incident', so as Max said, we 'move on'. Hungary next.20-07-2021 04:56

THe FIA pics show they were wheel to wheel with Hamilton on the inside line. Should have given each more space, but nothing more than a racing incident - like Hamilton and Charles later in the race at the same corner.19-07-2021 01:05

So much rubbish on this site, Hamilton has had good teammates, Alonso, Button, Rosberg all WDC - and bettered them all. Verstappen has had one good teammate and he beat him (Daniel) and now Perez who is a decent driver of Bottas like quality (Bottas is faster on Sat and Perez might be faster on Sunday).10-06-2021 05:27
